BROYLES AWARD ANNOUNCES WINNER
Notre Dame’s Al Golden Named College Football’s Top Assistant Coach

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (February 13, 2025) – The Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation is pleased to announce Al Golden, Defensive Coordinator at the University of Notre Dame, as the winner of the 2024 Broyles Award. The winner was selected from a group of five finalists by a selection committee made of former hall of fame coaches, members of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), and broadcasters.
The 2024 Broyles Award finalists included:
ARIZONA STATE – Marcus Arroyo, Offensive Coordinator
INDIANA – Bryant Haines, Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers
NOTRE DAME – Al Golden, Defensive Coordinator
TENNESSEE – Tim Banks, Defensive Coordinator
TEXAS – Pete Kwiatkowski, Defensive Coordinator and Outside Linebackers
The winner was announced at the Broyles Award ceremony on Thursday, February 13th at Oaklawn in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He is the 29th assistant coach to receive the Broyles Award. Visit the Broyles Award website for a full list of previous finalists and winners.
