Alonzo Carter is in his fourth year as a college football assistant coach. As a high school and community college head coach covering 18 seasons, his teams compiled a record of 129-69-3, won 11 league championships, three high school section titles, and six post-season bowl games. Carter was named a league or conference “Coach of the Year” seven times. Earlier this year, 247sports named him the Mountain West “Recruiter of the Year.” His past performance as a football coach earned him induction into the African American Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame and a spot in the Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship program in 2017. In 2020, he was named to the executive committee of the National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches.
