Why should this nominee be considered for the Broyles Award?
Coach Brian Lindgren has overseen one of the top offensives in the Pac-12 and in the country. As of this nomination, the Beavers rank third in the Pac-12 in both total offense and scoring offense, and rank within the top 35 nationally in each category. OSU’s run offense has shined, ranking first in the Pac-12 and 10th nationally.Coach Lindgren has seen that run game flourish despite the team’s running backs combining for one career start entering the season. B.J. Baylor has had a stellar season, and has 970 yards rushing, needing just 30 to have the 17th 1,000-yard rushing season in school history.Simply put, Oregon State has a dynamic offense that has enabled the program to become within sight of its first bowl appearance since 2013.
Coach's Past Performance
– Averaged 31.2 points per game in 2018, the second-best 12-game mark in school history. Averaged a school-record 6.0 yards per play.- RB Jermar Jefferson’s 1,380 rushing yards in 2018 represent the most ever by a Beaver freshman running back. He was later named a Freshman All-American and was the Pac-12’s Offensive Freshman of the Year.- Jefferson was also a semifinalist for the 2020 Doak Walker Award while wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins was named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award in 2019. Jefferson was also the Co-Offensive Player of the Year for the Pac-12 in 2020.- Coach Lindgren was nominated for the Broyles Award in 2019 in addition to the AFCA Assistant Coach of the Year honor in 2018.-

Baylor is among the nation’s leaders with an average of 107.8 yards per game and 11 rushing touchdowns.- Quarterback Chance Nolan leads the Pac-12 with a 148 passing efficiency. He is also first in the Pac-12 with 8.54 yards per pass attempt.- Redshirt senior has 421 yards receiving, the second-most during his six-year career.- Sixteen different players have caught at least one pass this season, and eight with 10 or more.
