Bryan Ellis has transformed the Georgia Southern offense in his first year in Statesboro. A run-first team in the past, the Eagles are now one of the country’s top passing offenses and have already broken numerous school records in just nine games.
Georgia Southern is ranked fourth in the FBS in passing offense, fifth in third down conversion offense, 18th in total offense and second in sacks allowed.
Kyle Vantrease is third in the country in passing yards per game, third in passing yards, and second in passing yards per game and has already re-written the school’s record book. He has set the school record already for passing yards in a season, touchdown passes in a season, completions in a season, passing yards in a game and is threatening Sun Belt Conference records as well. Khaleb Hood will break the school’s season receptions records this week and the Eagles had three 100-yard receivers in a game for the first time in program history earlier this season.
