Bloesch has moved into a new role as quarterbacks coach and quickly elevated the level of the North Texas offense. Under his leadership, the Mean Green have a balanced, explosive attack that ranks among the best in the country and tops in CUSA.
UNT has won 10 of its last 11 Conference USA games and currently stands in second place overall. The Mean Green earned its sixth win on Saturday against FIU and will play in a bowl game for the sixth time in seven years, a program record.
Bloesch has led the North Texas offense to one of the most explosive seasons in program history … The Mean Green lead CUSA and rank sixth nationally in total offense (503.8) along with ranking 14th nationally in rushing (218.6), 24th in passing (285.2). UNT also leads CUSA and ranks 17th nationally in scoring (37.2). The North Texas offense ranks eighth nationally in yards per play (7.13) and is the only Group of Five school in the top 12.
In his first year coaching quarterbacks, Bloesch has mentored UNT’s Austin Aune who is having one of the best seasons in program history. Aune leads the nation in yards per completion (16.19). Aune is also third with 28 passing TD and 12th in passing efficiency (163.2). The junior is on track to set new UNT season records for passing TD, yards per completion and TD responsibility.
