Coach Longo has again generated one of the nation’s top offenses. UNC ranks fourth nationally and first in the ACC in total offense (505.5 ypg), 10th and first in scoring offense (40.1 ppg), third and first in passing offense (341.6 ypg), and third and first in pass efficiency (175.4 rating). Longo’s QB pupil Drake Maye is a leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy and basically has ACC Player of the Year wrapped up. Maye currently leads the nation in passing TDs (34), total offense (399.6 ypg), ranks second in passing yards per game (341.2) and third in passing efficiency (178.9). He is tied for first nationally in total TDs (39).
Phil Longo has consistently produced one of the nation’s top offenses. His offenses have ranked in the Top 20 nationally consistently during his career. Two years ago, his unit set UNC records for total offense (537.2 ypg) and scoring offense (41.7 ppg). Carolina led the ACC in rushing each of the last two seasons, while also producing four 1,000-yard receivers during his three-year stint in Chapel Hill.
