In his first season with Tulane, Wood has the Green Wave’s defensive unit hailed among the nation’s stingiest against the run. On the season, the Olive and Blue has yet to allow a rushing play of 40 or more yards and is also ranked in the top 20 nationally in 30+ rushing plays allowed (T-4th, 1), 20+ (T-9th, 5) and 10+ (T-19th, 34). The team sits fourth nationally in rushing defense, surrendering just over 82 yards per game and is also eighth in the country in yards per rush allowed (2.94).
The unit also ranks in the top 25 in passes intercepted (19th, 11), fourth down conversion percentage defense (23rd, .381) and scoring defense (24th, 19.6).
