Why should this nominee be considered for the Broyles Award?
Magee has been a key component in helping build the Coastal defense up from his first season in 2019 to date. He has mentored/guided three All-Americans, one freshman All-American, one Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and seven all-conference honorees in the last three years at CCU.
Coach's Past Performance
Over his three-plus seasons at CCU, he has coached three All-Americans in Tarron Jackson, C.J. Brewer, and Josaiah Stewart, including CCU’s first-ever Consensus All-American in Jackson in 2020. Twice, he has had players set the program’s single-season sack record – Jackson and Stewart – while Stewart led the nation in sacks for true freshman in 2021. He has also coached one Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year honoree (Jackson) and seven All-Sun Belt selections during his time at CCU and has played a huge part in CCU going 30-4 over the last three seasons.

They also rank 25th nationally in tackles-for-loss at 6.7 per game and 32nd in sacks at 2.56 per contest. Led by his group up front, the Chants have held five teams to under 100 rushing yards this season and are allowing just 133.8 yards on the ground this year.
